The Mayor’s Fund for London is an independent non-political social mobility charity, championing opportunities for young Londoners from low-income backgrounds.
Their work raises awareness of the barriers facing young Londoners, promotes the activities which best increases their opportunities and brings together the partnerships to make a measurable impact on young Londoners’ lives. The Mayor’s Fund for London believes that all young people, regardless of their starting point in life, should be able to thrive in their community, forge fulfilling careers and be able to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities that London has to offer.
In 2020, the Mayor’s Fund for London supported close to 40,000 young Londoners aged 4-24 across all 33 boroughs working in partnership with over 1000 schools, 120 community organisations and charities, 148 employers and 320 volunteers, social enterprises, and local authorities.
Kirsty McHugh, Chief Executive, Mayor’s Fund for London: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Empower London for The London Festival. London is a great city. However, many of our young Londoners are still shut out of the opportunities on offer. Through collaborations like these, we aim to make sure that all young Londoners, regardless of background, are able to thrive. Our partnership with Empower London will help us provide healthy food and holiday activities, fun skills support, plus access to great long-term careers”
